Melody and Poetry + a poll!!!

 Hello, I'm BluePuffin!!

Today I’m going to share 3 poems I wrote and a poll that will define the poem of the month. This time, the song recommendations are:

“The Glue Song” is a song by the Filipino-born beabadoobee that, as the title indicates, shows how she’s “glued” to someone. The singer talks thoroughly about how she feels about that someone, showing she’s surprised by how that someone is, surprised by how she even found that someone in the first place, and revealing how she loves that someone. The singer showcased many aspects of the Filipino culture in the music video.

Moving on, “prom dress”, by mxmtoon, is a song mirroring her sadness, how her expectations aren’t met, and how she’s seemingly unable to ever ask for help; specially when she was in high school. She referenced that, since she wasn’t as social as normal, she came off as cold to many.
It seems she expected prom to be like she saw on the movies, a wholesome experience of cats and rainbows, when, for her, it really wasn’t, she even said she cried on while wearing her prom dress. She thought that maybe, if crying was the contest, she’d be prom queen, which indicated she was really sad and how prom wasn’t really a happy experience. For short, this song retrospects her introverted high school experience and feeling like it wasn’t what it once could’ve been.

Both songs could be linked to high school years, though the second song more obviously. I believe the first song could also be connected to high school since falling in love starts being common during teenhood, which occurs mostly during high school years. Though that may be similar, the songs represent a largely different reality: one which shows how someone reciprocatedly loves someone and the other shows how they’re not really social at all and aren’t happy with the situation they’re in.

My Rat Heaven and More Poetry

  Hello, I'm BluePuffin!!

Today, I’m going to share 3 poems I wrote. The song recommendations for today are:

Lana Del Rey’s “Ride” is a song that, in my opinion, reveals how she wants to “find a home” in the wrong places. However, many interpretations have been made, and the meaning of this song is extremely subjective. Let’s check out some opinions Redditors have:

The song “anything”, by Adrianne Lenker, just like her song “half return”, has been viral in social media. The singersongwriter, on their Apple Music album information, wrote about how this song came to mind:
“It’s a montage of many different images that I had stored in my mind from being with this person. I guess there’s a thread of sweetness through it all, through things as intense as getting bit by a dog and having to go to the ER. It’s like everything gets strung together like when you’re falling in love; it feels like when you’re in a relationship or in that space of getting to know someone. It doesn’t matter what’s happening, because you’re just with them. I wanted to encapsulate something or internalize something of the beauty of that relationship.”

2 Poems and AI Art’s Controversy

  Hello, I'm BluePuffin!!

Today, I’ll talk about AI art, and share two poems I wrote. The song recommendations for today are:

The song “DIORAMA” is a song by Yves. In a video posted by PAIX PER MIL on YouTube, Yves actually explains what her song meant:
“The song “Diorama” started with the question of how you would feel if you met the ideal version of yourself. While preparing for the album, I met the ideal version of myself, and the song was made by blending feelings and emotions into a mechanical R&B.”
The song “Again & Again” is a song by The Bird and The Bee that went viral on social media. It shows the repetitive nature of relationships by constantly repeating “again and again” in many parts of the song.

Thoughts on Project 2025 & the Lost Art of Letter Writing

 Hello, I'm BluePuffin!!

Today, I’ll talk about the controversial Project 2025, try to convince you to write a letter, and share a songlike poem I wrote. Today’s song recommendations are:

The song "Right Now" is a new song by NewJeans. I like it, though not as much as when I first heard it. The version I recommended here is a remix of the song made by Noksum, who makes song remixes.

"Oral" is a collaborative song by Icelandic singer-songwriter Björk and Spanish singer-songwriter Rosalía. The song was originally created 25 years ago, but was reworked to become this new version, which also integrates Rosalía's vocals now. Income that they recieve from the song will be used for fundraising to support a legal case against fish farms, brought fort by citizens from a town in eastern Iceland. A friend recommended me to drop a listen to Björk and I found this nice song.
