Thoughts on Project 2025 & the Lost Art of Letter Writing

 Hello, I'm BluePuffin!!

Today, I’ll talk about the controversial Project 2025, try to convince you to write a letter, and share a songlike poem I wrote. Today’s song recommendations are:

The song "Right Now" is a new song by NewJeans. I like it, though not as much as when I first heard it. The version I recommended here is a remix of the song made by Noksum, who makes song remixes.

"Oral" is a collaborative song by Icelandic singer-songwriter Björk and Spanish singer-songwriter Rosalía. The song was originally created 25 years ago, but was reworked to become this new version, which also integrates Rosalía's vocals now. Income that they recieve from the song will be used for fundraising to support a legal case against fish farms, brought fort by citizens from a town in eastern Iceland. A friend recommended me to drop a listen to Björk and I found this nice song.

 Project 2025: what the bleep.

Project 2025 is a massive document that outlines exactly what should happen if Donald Trump or any other Republican Party member gets elected in the United States. The motivation behind the project is to ensure that any Republican administration can efficiently begin implementing conservative policies as soon as 20 January 2025.

For short, it just "says no" to birth control (so, no to contraception or abortion), promotes the idea that a biblical definition of a family and marriage should be mantained (nuclear family with a man and a woman as parents), promotes further exploitation of fossil fuel resources, doesn't allow funding science research in case of it not aligning with conservative principles, it prosecutes all state and local governments who have a DEI (Diversity, Equality and Inclusion) program... Well, this is just a quick view of the it. There are more than 900 pages in Project 2025, so you shouldn't think I can convey everything it says in a simple paragraph.

It wouldn't just increase greenhouse gas emissions by promoting exploitation of fossil fuel resources, which would increase global warming, but it would also bid farewell to having safe sex (bye contraception!), to women having the ability to choose if they want to give birth or not (bye abortion!) and to LGBTQ+ rights (bye to non-man-and-woman marriages!). It would also open a golden door for Christian Nationalism. Having this said, if you are from the USA, potientally letting this happen or not, all depends on your vote next legislative election: it’s your choice. In my opinion, both Joe Biden and Donald Trump aren't good choices, at all. However, if I had to choose between the two, ignoring the other options (yes, Biden and Trump aren’t the only options), I'd probably vote Biden in order to prevent this "Project 2025" from being implemented. The thing is, I’ve heard some people say Trump doesn’t even agree with it, and that just makes it more complicated, doesn’t it?…

Maybe you could write a letter or something?

Letters, letters, letters... You haven't heard about them for a while, have you? What about postcards? Have you heard of them? No? Aw... Well, here I am to remind you of their existence.

While in the past writing a letter to someone might've been the preferred method of communicating with someone, nowadays, e-mails and texts are chosen. Well, it's not surprising, isn't it? Why bother to write a letter saying "How have you been?", which needs a stamp, takes time to get to the destination, makes you need to go to a post office, and requires a decently legible handwriting to be understood, when you can just drop a text? A text, from the comfort of your home, from the fraction of a price a stamp costs (or even free, if you text using instant messaging - ignoring the fact WIFI and mobile data are both paid, AHEM), that arrives as fast as your next step does when you're walking to work (or school) in a hurry. Well, now I'm gonna show you why you should and shouldn’t send a letter to someone you know.

Writing a letter to someone you like will brighten their day and show them you care and think about them. Your letter can be kept anywhere they want, without getting lost amidst the 38292 e-mails the person might have in their mailbox, or amidst the chats you have with them. The letter could act as a time capsule for how you were in the past. It could also make someone cry, may that be good or not, picture this: if you died before them, that letter would have so much value to them, that they'd be forever grateful you cared enough about them to give them this gift. Moreover, to write a letter, you need to reflect, which makes you express yourself in a more thoughtful way. Writing a letter also allows you to be creative: highlighting text, putting stickers, and making doodles are not things you can do on the average e-mailing or instant messaging software.

However, writing letters isn't just cats and rainbows, of course: everything has its downsides. Writing a letter can be time-consuming, as it takes considerably more time than sending a text or an email. It may also have more impact on the environment than sending an email, since you're using paper. By the way, neither stamps, envelopes or stationery are free. The letter may also get lost, not reaching the someone you so much wanted to see it.

Writing a letter has its downsides and its advantages, and it's your choice to write one or not. By the way, do you know what postcards are? I'll leave a picture as an example below. Postcards don't need an envelope to be mailed.

 Poem (song)

changing the pitch

whatever you say,
from my home to LA,
life just be crazay, AYYYYY

flowers blooming in the garden like crazy,
should i buy a diamond or should i just pick a daisy?
whatever it is, I hope it’s the right choice
if it’s the wrong one well I can, just hear my voice

bought a sea, such a place to be
top ten in “views you could see”
the flowers even grow on the beach,
come hear my voice, now I’m changing the pitch!

whatever you say,
from my home to LA,
life just be crazay,
whatever you say

you send me all these texts,
don’t know how to reply,
running out of stocks,
how can I supply?

one eight one eight one o three
random string of numbers, ending in three
I-T-S O-K-A-Y
can’t say more at all, well time really does fly.

Flowers poetry
Flowers. (I took the pictures. The second flower has a yellow top, but it got cut out in the picture sadly)

I wrote this songlike poem on Wednesday, July 3rd. I can sing it in my head as if it’s a song. I don’t really know what this whole poem’s theme might be, if you have an idea, drop a comment. I can explain each stanza and give them a theme or meaning but, in total, adding all stanzas, I don’t really know what theme the poem is, maybe life?
Any different opinion? Any question? Drop a comment, y’all! Even if it’s just an “I liked it”. Also, LGBT pride month ended, now it’s the disability pride month! Happy Disability Pride Month! Well, see you next Friday with a new entry, have a good day or night, bye!
