2 Poems and AI Art’s Controversy

  Hello, I'm BluePuffin!!

Today, I’ll talk about AI art, and share two poems I wrote. The song recommendations for today are:

The song “DIORAMA” is a song by Yves. In a video posted by PAIX PER MIL on YouTube, Yves actually explains what her song meant:
“The song “Diorama” started with the question of how you would feel if you met the ideal version of yourself. While preparing for the album, I met the ideal version of myself, and the song was made by blending feelings and emotions into a mechanical R&B.”
The song “Again & Again” is a song by The Bird and The Bee that went viral on social media. It shows the repetitive nature of relationships by constantly repeating “again and again” in many parts of the song.

 AI “art”: um,

As of lately, AI has been taking over a field of creativity: art. Art, which humans pour their souls and thoughts and time into, while AI just… does it. Since AI is now able to create images representing anything, some people are effortlessly taking advantage of that and making accounts publishing AI generated content, such as non-existing landscapes or so called “art”, to gain clout. Their effort? Prompting AI to make an image of “colorful flat illustration classical animes, A 35mm film photograph documenting the discovery of a ferocious, agile alien, depicted in a wide-angle, panoramic composition. The cinematic framing, flash lighting, and vintage film aesthetic produce a bright, reflective scene with intricate details., draw art style influenced by japanese artists, niji, black outlines, navy blue, cherry red and soft cream color scheme, panoramic open shot, long range distance subject, wide view”. Was it a pain to read all that? It’s a real prompt I've copied from Twitter, someone used it.

First of all, AI generated images compete unfairly with artist generated art. Artist generated art is time taking and AI prompters get their “art” effortlessly, while still getting the same or even more clout than real artists. I think this is like cheating on a game.

While this is less known, generative AI also takes a toll on the environment. AI prompts are more energy consuming than, for instance, Google searches, which can worsen climate change, if the energy isn’t resourced renewably.

To have a quick glance, I asked people in a Discord server what they thought of AI art. Here are their responses:
ai art is not art

stop ai art

opinions on ai art

I tried, but I couldn’t find one person in the server that would answer in favor of AI art.

I completely agree with Ellie, and, as someone once said, “I want to write while AI does my dishes, not AI to write while I do the dishes.”.

Short Poem

spoiler alert: we'll die sooner.

today’s 7 ‘o 7
is this life or is this heaven
today’s 7 ‘o 7
life, life, life, life: heaven

when i put it all together
wrapped it all in a letter
i found nothing else was better
than living with nice weather

whether you like this weather or not
whether you sneeze or you not
put it all together, we might disappear
the sky to come may not be clear

today’s 7 ‘o 7
is this life or is this heaven
today’s 7 ‘o 7
life, life, life, life: heaven

when i understood it all,
without making any poll,
i understood that this ball,
will die later, we'll die sooner

when i understood it all,
without making any poll,
i understood that this ball,
will die later, we'll die sooner.

today’s 7 ‘o 7
is this life or is this heaven
today’s 7 ‘o 7
life, life, life, life: heaven

Written on the 7th of July, hence “7 ’o 7”.
Short Poem 2

whatever i even mean

how am i supposed to know
how am i supposed to know
you are not who I thought u were.

some say the time goes slow
some say, to just let it go
cry it out, talk with who u were

but really i dont even care
silence is too much to bear
but if i bear the silence
maybe ill feel the _pleasence_
as if i had ur presence

give me some time to think about
give me some time to whine about
give me some wine some food for thought
you forgot the words someone else’s taught
